Enter the Study Solis

Across the hundred thousand square leagues of woodlands, mountains, wetlands, and waters that comprise Hayuwasi, the Ranger's Guild watches. Its learned wardens mediate between civilization and wilderness, not only protecting the jungle from the inexorable march of industry, but also guiding its growth through six long zyugas of study and cultivation. The rangers ward against danger from both without and within-- indeed, poachers preying on rare species who seek refuge in Hayuwasi, capitalists in search of land to extract and develop, industrialists eager to cast their pollutive waste far away from civilized eyes; but also natural disasters that threaten the health of the system, uncontrolled growth that outpaces the system's checks and balances, and unpredictable behavior from the many human residents scattered throughout.

At the epicenter of life, knowledge, and authority, dozens of longhouses comprise the beating heart of Hayuwasi: Sudalijhe’Yi. This basecamp-turned-village hosts the Council of Twelve and the guild school among its many hundreds of residents and guests, flowing through like institutional lifeforce. Within these cedar palisades, huntresses convene with their squads to mark the quor that will surrender a rare trophy; loremasters study, debate, and philosophize the hidden truths of the world; spellrangers meditate on the the harmony of arghalos, jvgwah, and self; and gardeners plant the seeds to a resilient system, cultivated to resist violence in all its forms. In every longhouse, kindred minds work towards one goal: balance.

In the wake of a realm-uniting incursion of demons, there is no more thirst for war-- only for rebuilding. With half a generation of fighters lost, nations across the realm have renewed their focus on guildswork for stability and progress. Through these regional institutions, governors entangle themselves into peace-coercing alliances, and knowledge is shared and compounded across borders. Within these bastions of humanity, the best of every state collaborate on a singular vision-- for the Ranger's Guild, the work begins with Hayuwasi.

Here, at its center, in the heart of hearts, inside the elm bark walls of the Great Hall of Sudalijhe'Yi, arrive the heroes of our story: Luna, Rowan, Jhun, and Ty.
